GWHS Suggested Summer Reading for the 2020-2021 School Year

As the current pandemic has the potential to alter the lives and responsibilities of many students, the GW English department has decided to make the summer reading program optional for the upcoming school year. While we feel that it is important to continue our tradition of giving students enriching texts to explore over the summer months, we understand that it may not be feasible for all students to complete a required reading assignment at this particular time. Thus, with the exception of AP courses, we ask only that students obtain their assigned books and bring them to class on the first day of school. They will serve as the first selections taught in each of our English courses. If you have any questions, or if you are unable to get a copy of your assigned book, please contact your English teacher via email.

AP students should read all assigned selections and access the link to their scheduled courses for further details and assignments.

Additional AP suggested readings have also been included. You can view the suggested summer reading list here.
